Forgiving the Inexcusable

“To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.”
~C.S. Lewis

Lord, you have forgiven so much in me.

I am foolish and hardheaded, stubborn at times, and too unsteady at others.  I know what is right and yet, on too many occasions I’ve chosen convenience rather than righteousness.  I’ve overlooked the hardships of others and the oppressions of my brothers and sisters all around this globe because it is easier to look the other way than to pursue your justice.

And yet, you have forgiven me.
Over and over again,
You have forgiven me.

And so, Lord, it is with that knowledge that I know I must forgive others.

Give me the wisdom to know that you alone are judge.
You alone are God.

Amen.
